English term or phrase:self evaluation
Hello! I have a problem with interpreting a sentence... Reading the whole context, it is clear that we're not talking about self-evaluation, but about evaluation by others... What do you think? We're talking about conflict-handling styles...
"Studies conducted on the use of different interpersonal conflict-handling styles indicate that collaboration (one of the five conflict-handling styles) tends to be characteristics of (1) more successful rather than less successful individuals and (2) high-performing rather than medium and low performing organizations. People tend to perceive collaboration in terms of the constructive use of conflict. The use of collaboration seems to result in positive feelings in others, as well as favorable self-evaluations of performance and abilities. In contrast to collaboration, forcing and avoiding (two other conflict handling styles) often have negative effects. These styles tend to be associated with a less constructive use of conflict, negative feelings from others and unfavorable evaluations of performance and abilities."
