|English term or phrase: Olive (in a pipe joint)|
|In a plumbing context, when connecting copper pipe, there is a compressible copper ring called (in England) an olive that is use in a screwed pipe joints to give a seal. I have an idea it is called something else in the USA. But I have forgotten what it is called in Spain. Can someone help me please? – “oliva?”|
The part you are describing is called a ferrule in the U.S., and a "virola" in Spain.
