English term or phrase: critical mass for growth transactions
I am translating an annual report for a major oil and gas company from English into Arabic. One section in the report deals with "Gas Gathering, Processing, and Marketing." In this section, one paragraph under the title of "strengths" reads:

"Assets in major gas-producing regions; efficient, reliable low-cost operations; critical mass for growth transactions."

I would be much obliged if someone could just explain to me what the last phrase means in plain English. I will be able to deal with the Arabic once I figure out what the phrase really means.

critical mass means that all the market potential in that field (or geographical zone) has been achieved.

In this case, therefore, one of the strengths of the company is that it has achieved the market share necessary to enable it to move on to the next stage in its growth strategy...
