English to Afrikaans translations [PRO]
Medical - Medical (general)
English term or phrase: bipolar I disorder
What I'm mostly concerned here is an Afrikaans word that is correctly spelt for a general public audience. I know one can write "bipolêre I versteuring" if the target audience doesn't care about spelling, but I care about spelling (and presumably my client does too), so I'm looking for an Afrikaans translation that adheres to the latest spelling rules.

Notes to answerer
Asker: Would that not mean that "bipolar" becomes an adjective, and that it is a type of "I disorder"?

Notes to answerer
Asker: What do you mean by "die webwerf"? :-) I agree that this is a possible way of writing it, but it is much longer than the English and I was hoping for something similar to the English.

agree  Philip Zietsman: This is probably a better translation. I would also go with this.

bipolar i disorder
Bipolêre gemoedsversteuring I

Explanation:
I have a problem with the category indication appearing after the adjective and before the noun (also in the English term). prefer the category indication after the noun. The term "gemoedsversteuring" as opposed to "versteuring" also seems to be the preferred term.
