English term or phrase: unblinding
The subject's treatment must be "unblinded". Any suggestions for a good Afrikaans translation please? We commonly use blind trial = blinde proef, but the dilemma is how to describe the process of unblinding.

ontblinding


Explanation:
Having translated and edited quite a few of these, I can tell you that "ontblind" is pretty standard for "unblind", and "verblind" is good for "blind". One can translate "unblinded" as "onverblinde" but then you'll struggle to translate "unblind" (verb), because "onverblind" would be an intransitive verb.

Come to think of it... my grammar is on the coffee... transitiveness has nothing to do with it :-) but I would feel less secure with "onverblind" as a verb than with "ontblind".

Asker: Ek weet van onverblind, maar dit klink so Engelsrig. Dink jy nie "oopstel" en dus "oopgestelde" is beter nie? Tog, praat ons van 'n blinde studie, ag nee, eks nou helemaal deurmekaar.
