English term or phrase: I forgive
Hi, everyone. My boss needs to know how to say "Yo Perdono" (I Forgive) in Afrikaans. There is no more context. She will use such sentence as the name of a campaign. The important thing is to keep the subject for emphasis, to show that I am the one who forgive, and that I will enjoy the benefits of forgiveness. Behind "I forgive", there's an underlying "I choose to forgive". Google Translate says that this is the sentence in Afrikaans: ek vergewe. I would really appreciate confirmation on this. Thank you in advance.

ek vergewe
Explanation:
I forgive. = Ek vergewe.
I forgive = ek vergewe

Instead of "vergewe" there is also "vergeef", which has a more formal, archaic ring to it, but I wouldn't use it, since it may also be mistaken for a typo for "ek vergeet" (I forget).
