English term or phrase: Localization: Arabic website navigaton menu on right hand side?
Hi,

I have a rather uncommon question, and I hope that you find it appropriate to ask it as KudoZ question. Rather than a term/phrase I have the following questions:

One of my customers (aviation industry) plans to have their website translated into Arabic. As a courtesy to their Arabic clients they want to offer an Arabic version, although their clients would understand the English version as well.

However, before ordering the translation, they want to clarify, whether it is a requirement for Arabic websites to have the navigation menu on the right hand side. This would probably be impossible using their current webdesign.

Is it possible - and still good practice - to have the navigation menu on the left hand side on an Arabic webpage?

yes
Explanation:
As a web designer, I say, yes...it is possible to have Arabic menu on the left hand and body on the right one. However, this is not the best practice in Arabic web sites.

I do not think that it is impossible to have menu on right and body on left. This is so simple and done by 4 characters on HTML tags.

To be precise, added characters are 7 not 4 and one space as I mentioned above.
