English to Arabic translations [PRO] Science - Aerospace / Aviation / Space / Air traffic Lingo
English term or phrase:North Romeo
Guys, anyone have any idea what this means in Arabic? I would greatly appreciate specific Arabic aviation expressions in addition to an explanation, if possible.
This is from an article on the plane that crashed. It is the last transmission the co-pilot gave before air traffic control stopped getting responses from the plane. Here is what he said to the air traffic controller:
Buffalo approach 3407 12 or 11,000 North Romeo.
I tried Googling North Romeo but all I could find was that Romeo stands for the letter R, but I'm not sure what to make of the rest of the transmission.
That's the weird part. The audio clip was accompanied by the transcript. There was too much static in the clip for me to make sure, but the transcript included North Romeo. Here's the link to the published article. http://www.insideedition.com/news.aspx?storyID=2623
The audio clip was part of the show itself.
I suppose the show mistook something in the clip for North Romeo. Thanks everyone all the same!
