Explanation:
1. I agree with my previous college about the first name "Shahid" شهيد. The extra comment I want to make is that it could also mean "witness" as in the case when someone sees or witnesses something and in this case it is similar to the word "Shahed" or شاهد.
2. I have to disagree however with my colleague's proposed answer about "Zakia". This word has different meanings. It could mean "The fragrant one" as in the case when we say
.زكية الرائحة أو عطرة الرائحة
It could also mean - addressing a female of course: the pure one, the chaste, the innocent one, the righteous, the honest.
I think what my colleague had in mind was the word with the spelling ذكية that is with a "Thal" ذ rather than a "Zein -Zei" ز, but the female name most commonly used in Arabic is the one spelt with ز - زكية as I mentioned above.
3. "Nishat" I find to be a hard one. If the spelling in Arabic is نشاط which in Arabic would be pronounced "Nashat" rather than "Nishat" then I would agree with my colleague.
If it's a male's name the closest to this which is used a lot in Egypt is نشأت<-> Nash-at with a stop in the pronunciation between the h and a.
This name is derived from the nouns "nurturing, bringing up, raising, … etc”. So, I could venture a meaning to it saying it means: thoroughbred, aristocrat, blue-bloo, high-class person
