English term or phrase: Average Directional Index ADX

An indicator used in technical analysis that shows strength of a trend. It smoothes the difference between the negative directional indicator (-DI) and positive directional indicator (+DI), and is on a scale of 0 to 100. Index values above 40 indicate that the particular trend is strong, while values less than 20 indicates that a trend is weak and that an investor should not use a trend following system. The index only shows the strength of the trend, not whether or not it is trending upwards or downwards.

Explanation:
قام "ويليس ويلدر" بتصميم مؤشر وأسماه مؤشر المتوسط الاتجاهي (Average Directional Index). وهو مؤشر يقوم بقياس مدى قوة وضعف الاتجاه الحالي للأسعار، حيث أنه من الهام جدا معرفة ما إن كانت حركة السوق تعبر عن اتجاه معين أو أنه يسير بصورة عرضية، وذلك لأنه هناك بعض المؤشرات يمكن استخدامها في وقت وضوح اتجاه معين للسوق وهناك مؤشرات أخرى يمكن استخدامها في أوقات سير السوق بصورة عرضية فقط.وبصورة عامة فإن ذلك المؤشر تم تصميمه بحيث أن يتذبذب ما بين مستويات الصفر والمائة. ولكن على الرغم من ذلك إلا أنه من النادر جدا ارتفاع المؤشر إلى ما فوق مستويات 60.وفي حالة تواجد المؤشر تحت مستويات 40 فإن ذلك يعني ضعف الاتجاه الحالي للأسعار بينما في حالة تواجد المؤشر فوق مستويات 40 فإن ذلك يعني قوة الاتجاه الحالي. ويجب ملاحظة أن المؤشر لا يحاول تحدد اتجاه الأسعار سواء كان صاعدا أو هابطا ولكن يقوم بتحديد قوته فقط.
