I don't think so for the fact that تجسيد ALONE gives one of the two meanings: embodying (physically) or representing (figuratively). Neither indicates 'picturing' or 'drawing' the physical appearance. Thank you for your question!

Usually there is no much context with 'avatar'. If the word is already spread and well known, it will fight for transliteration usually. Since it is new, we can make any word in Arabic such as ترم ترم for example and say this is the meaning of Phone and it will work under one condition (if every one uses it).
Since this is an old word and a new specialized meaning then I usually care about semantic. Yes, there is no صورة in the original text but you can see it in the 'visual context'. If I am brand new person to the computer and read 'avator' I will never figure it is a picture of any type. However, once a correct meaning is spread it is not yet over. Users can summerize it such as ضوئية for نسخة ضوئية (xeroxed copy) or السعودية for المملكة العربية السعودية ...etc. I urge you to add your suggestion تجسيد there but please, use the same criterion for your entry by giving a vice-versa translation of it. |
