What is the Road Reserve
The Road Reserve is the strip of public land between abutting property boundaries, specifically gazetted for the provision of public right of way. It includes the road carriageway, as well as footpaths and verges.

مسافة الارتداد

here in Palestine, it's formally called الارتداد.

عند طلب ترخيص بالبناء أو توثيق ملكية لأرض ما هنا، يتم إصدار الوثائق مع تحديد مسافة الارتداد. وتدعى بالارتداد لأنها المسافة الثابتة في طريق ما والتي يتحدد استواء الأبنية أو مساحات الأراضي المملوكة عليها، حيث تعد تلك المسافة ملكا للبلدية تستغل في مد أنابيب الصرف أو وضع أعمدة الإنارة وبالطلبع إنشاء الأرصفة للمشاة. فهي المسافة التي "ترتد" ملكية الأرض إلى ما بعدها أو "ترتد" حقوق البناء إلى ما وراءها.

مع ملاحظة أن العديد من الأبنية والمنازل هنا تبنى على حدود الارتداد مباشرة حيث يتم البناء عادة فوق "حواصل" وهي تقسيمات لمساحات متعارف عليها يتم تأجيرها عادة لتصبح محال تجارية تمثل إيجاراتها مصادر دخل لأصحاب الأبنية.

أما في حالة المنازل المنشأة كنظام فلل، فيمثل حد الارتداد عادة خط السور الخارجي المحيط بالمنزل.
