One of the reasons that eggs are such a popular choice for breakfast is the numerous alternatives for preparation. Poaching is one of the easiest methods for cooking eggs.

Please remember that this is not "boiling" in the common sense.

Poaching is cooking slowly in a minimum amount of liquid even below the simmering point and not allowing the liquid to boil. It is a special technique to cook delicate food products. For e.g poaching eggs,fish etc.

غلي البيض


Explanation:
It is not سلق البيض as this means 'boiling'.
Poaching is prepared by breaking the egg in boiling water to which vinegar has bee added.It is left in the boiling water until it's set. Delicious!

I used the term 'غلي البيض’ or 'البيض المغلي’ to distinguish it from 'boiled egg'.

Add some vinegar and salt to the water (the CIA recommends 2 T of vinegar and 1 T of salt for each gallon of water), bring it to a gentle boil / simmer (82°C). Crack a really fresh egg into a saucer and gently slide it into the pot. Don't put too many in the pot at one time. It should take about 3-4 minutes to finish. Lift the egg from the water with a slotted spoon, trim off the ragged whites and voilل! (or voilà?) you should have poached eggs.

agree  Nesrin: I was about to suggest something similar (كسر البيض في ماء مغلي). With due respect to the other suggestions, they don't convey the meaning to the normal reader, and they don't clarify the difference between "poached" and "boiled".
