English to Arabic translations [PRO] Social Sciences - Education / Pedagogy / Parenting | | English term or phrase: Day Stay Program | Please look here: http://www.ngala.com.au/day_night.html
It is a program where new parents who don't have much parenting skills stay the whole day to learn from specialists how to bring their children up. |
Explanation: Within the context, my translation should read just fine. We can also say:
برنامج اليوم الواحد لتأهيل/تدريب الوالدين على العناية بالطفل

Hi Sam,
Thanks for your kind reply, but I still believe it is one day for the parents.
From the referene webiste, it reads:
"It encourages mothers, fathers and other significant care givers to spend ***the day*** at Ngala Family Resource Centre with their child, children or grandchildren so that they can receive practical advice and support."
"Spend the day" indicates very clearly that the parents spend the day to learn how to take care of their kids.
The following sentence from the same reference website provided highlights that fact.
"Saturday Day Stays are popular with working parents whose commitments prevent them taking part in the program during the week."
This means that Saturday (weekend) is very popular with full-time employeed parents.
It is also true that the programs operates 5 days a week, but this applies to Nagla, not to the parents, I guess.
If my guess here is not right, then maybe you can use the following translation:
برنامج الإقامة (والتعايش) اليومي لتدريب الوالدين
I think this is neutral and might work out for you.
thanks,
Mohamed

3 hrs confidence: | day stay program
Explanation: I'm thinking you need to use the word نهار here as you also have the "Overnight program", so you need to distinguish btw نهار & ليل. That's why يومي doesn't work very well here. you could say:
البرنامج النهاري
برنامج النهار الكامل
something like that.
