أ- خطأ نقع فيه عند تقييمنا لشخص أو شيء عن طريق اتجاه سابق كوناه نحوه سواء أكان إيجابياً أم سلبياً، فإذا بتقييمنا يتأثر بهذا الاتجاه فنقيمه بأعلى مما يستحق أو بأقل من حقيقته.
ب- خطأ نقع فيه عادة في استخدامنا للمقاييس والدراسات التي تعتمد على التقدير الذاتي أو الترتيب الذاتي.
