number-correct = this is a noun noun structure - the first noun (number) modifies (functions like an adjective to) the second noun- so number here functions like an adjective. then the second noun modifies the third, in other words, functions as an adjective to the third.

In Arabic the order of modifiers is not the same as that in English
for example for a compound like - telephone number you may have
رقم التليفون - الرقم التليفوني
In Arabic the modifier follows the noun- like in the above phrase in Arabic, telephon modifies number just like in English but the order is not the same.
