يبدو أن النص يتعرض لأمرين أحدهما النمو المستدام الذي لا يحتاج للتأكيد على بقاءه طالماً أنه مستدام والأرجح أن النص يشير إلى صفة أخري مكملة هي المحافظة على الذات ولعل الأمثلة الواردة تشير إلى ذلك خصوصاً

Explanation:
I chose to omit the word "core", which seems to me just added for emphasis. Otherwise, it should be something like البقاء الجوهري, which I think makes no sense in Arabic.

To pick on the comments of other colleagues, I think we can sue such words as اساسا to achieve the same rhetorical effect of the word "core": ..تحديا لديمومة نموه ولبقائه أساسا .
