Engineers may have their own translation different from the text you have. I agree with your estimation of the term, Fuad, but engineers I consulted agree with the translation too, as they are not really looking for a translation, rather for the term that would render the meaning right for 'students' or the reader in general. "Finger-and-back-of-hand-proof" is not a thing that you use, but a design feature that enhances safety. This feature could be part of any of a number of devices, including cables.
