English term or phrase: milk
beverage
لبن، حليب
Explanation:
The Qur'anic term is لبن pronounced LABAN. This term is still used in Egypt, the Hijaz, and some other regions.

In many other Arab regions, the term LABAN is used for buttermilk (sour milk), while the term حليب (pronounced HALEEB) is used for milk. This distinction is gaining popularity, but one should still be careful with regional differences.
