We use the French word.

There is no Arabic name for this piece of furniture, as it did not exist originally in the Arab world. In these cases we use the foreign names. A Mashrabiya, is an Arab style window that does not exist in Europe, so the name is just transliterated and if you google it you get many results.

Asker: I totally understand your point, but I have tried الألواح الساترة Do you think it would be understandable? because I believe that it doesn't exist, it surely has a meaning in our langauage. It's just an attempt, havent meant to "atfazlek" :$ what do you kindly think? Thanks a lot.
