- قدم ممثل برنامج الأمم المتحدة للبيئة تقريراً عن أنشطة برنامجه للمساعدة على الامتثال، وهو عبارة عن مبادرة فريدة يقوم بها برنامج الأمم المتحدة للبيئة بدعم من اللجنة التنفيذية لإعادة توجيه استراتيجيته نحو الوفاء بالاحتياجات المتغيرة للبلدان العاملة بموجب المادة 5. ويقدم البرنامج مشورة مباشرة بشأن السياسات إلى البلدان وذلك عن طريق المكاتب الإقليمية التابعة لبرنامج الأمم المتحدة للبيئة ويبحث عن حلول للمشاكل النوعية لكل بلد. وقد أبرز التقرير أداء البلدان التي يساعدها برنامج الأمم المتحدة للبيئة في الوفاء باتجاهات نحو الامتثال بموجب المادتين 5 و7 و4 باء وكذلك تناول قضايا الامتثال الخاصة بكل بلد. وقد أُبرزت المشاكل والدروس والتوصيات بإيجاز. ووجه الانتباه كذلك إلى ورقات الامتثال القطرية "بالنسبة لكل بلد" ورد اسمه في التقرير.
