Geography
English term or phrase: Mayab
The invaders found themselves at the gates of Mayab, the land of the Maya.

The Mayab is the part of south-eastern Mexico inhabited by all the people that still talk a language related to Mayan.

The region covers 400,000km2, and is divided into three very different areas; The South comprises the High Lands and the Pacific coastal strip of Yucatan. The central area is covered with dense, hot and humid tropical forest. The Northern area corresponds to the Yucatan peninsula.

"Mayab", does it have a specific name in Arabic? or is it simply منطقة شعوب المايا?
