وهو أحد أنواع الإسقاط التي توصل إليها كارل سيمون في العام 1937
سبب التسمية
authalic is from the Greek autos ailos, "same area".

Quartet رباعي
because Its meridians are fourth-order curves, hence the name.

تعقيب على ما ذكره الأستاذ فؤاد

بالفعل أنا قصدت أن الإضافة حالت دون التنوين، ولعلي أسأت التعبير. كلمة "متساوٍ" اسم فاعل مشتق من الفعل "يتساوى"، وهو يُصاغ من
غير الثلاثي على وزن مضارعه المعلوم بإبدال حرف المضارعة ميماً مضمومة وكسر ما قبل آخره مثل: مُكْرِم ( يُكرِم)، مُسْتغفِر ( يستغفر) ، متخاصِمان (يتخاصمان)، متساوٍ(يتساوى) ، مصطفٍ (يصطفي)
ويُحذَف التنوين في كلمة "مُتساوٍ" بالإضافة
والإضافة المقصودة هنا هي الإضافة اللفظية التي ترجع فائدتها إلى اللفظ فقط، بما تحدثه فيه من تخفيف بحذف التنوين من الاسم المفرد المضاف( "متساوٍ+المساحات" تصبح "متساوي المساحات") ، أو حذف النون من الاسم المثنى (كما في "جاء معلما التاريخ" وأصلها " ، أو جمع المذكر السالم عند إضافته "جاء معلمو التاريخ") ، وتختص هذه الإضافة بالأسماء المشتقة العاملة عمل الفعل كاسم الفاعل ( "كما في "متساوٍ" )،

Classification

Graticule

Central Meridian: Straight line 0.45 as long as the Equator.

Other Meridians: Equally spaced quartic (fourth-order equation) curves concave toward the central meridian.

Parallels: Unequally spaced straight parallel lines, perpendicular to the central meridian. Spacing changes gradually and is greatest near the Equator.

Poles: Points.

Symmetry: About the central meridian or the Equator.
Features

This is an equal-area projection. Scale is true along the Equator and is constant along any parallel and between any pair of parallels equidistant from the Equator. Distortion is severe near the outer meridians at high latitudes, but less so than on the Sinusoidal projection. It is free of distortion along the Equator. This projection is not conformal or equidistant.
Parallels

This projection has one standard parallel, which is by definition fixed at 0º.
Remarks

This projection was presented by Karl Siemon in 1937 and independently by Oscar Sherman Adams in 1945.

الاسم المنقوص آخره ياء تحذف لفظاً وخطاً في الرفع والجر في حالة التنوين، فنقول
جاء قاضٍ، وذهبت إلى محامٍ
ولا تحذف في حالة النصب، فنقول
كان فرحه بادياً
ولا تحذف في حالة التعريف بالألف واللام أو بالإضافة، لسقوط التنوين، فنقول
جاء المحامي، وجلس القاضي
وكذلك نقول
حامي الحرمين الشريفين
ولا نقول حام الحرمين
لأن الإضافة منعت التنوين

هذا النوع من التنوين يُسمَّى تنوين العوض عن حرف، لان النحاة العرب الأوائل وجدوه يعوِّض عن حرف العلة المحذوف

من ذلك نقول
متساوي الأضلاع
ومتساوي المساحات

وللاسـتزادة من هذه الموضوعات، بالإمكان البحث عن بعض العبارات الواردة فيه، مثل تنوين العوض، والأسماء الناقصة، والامس المنقوص، وحذف الياء، والإضافة، إلى غير ذلك

Asker: yesterday I was thinkin abt translating the full description إسقاط رباعي متساو المساحات شبه إسطواني coz I failed to cut down authalic as u did

-> Merci Zeina. Never mind! By the way, "equal-areas/authalic" is a distortion caused by using this "Quartic authalic projection" يعني هو ليس مسقط للمساحات المتساوية، وإنما إسقاط تبدو فيه مساحات المناطق متساوية وذلك واحد من عيوبه

Lamis Maalouf: صحيح، ولكن لماذا حذفت الياء؟ إسقاط رباعي متساوي المساحات///لا، لا تحذف الياء في الإضافة وإنما في حال التنوين، ألا تقول مثلاً "مثلث متساوي الأضلاع"؟
