Explanation: ،لا يوجد في اللغة العربية المدٌّ العالي بل هناك مدً وجزر في الأحوال الطبيعية كما في التعريف الوارد بالإنجليزية في القاموس المفتوح
يسمى المصب بـ دلتا أي المثلث في اللاتينيه في الثقافة الأفريقية أومصب بالفصحى وهو أقرب ما يكون للتعريف الذي أوردته.
لذا فالـ high-tide ارتفاع الماء هوالمدّ لأنه فائض من الماء ولا يفيض الماء عالياً إنما ما يسمى بأمواج المد العالي فهو من البحر لا من النهر.
وأما low-tide فما يعرف بـ الجَزٍر ولذا اقتضى التنبيه.
