جُعل /تعويض الإغاثة (الانقاذ): التعويض المستحق لمن اشترك في نجدة سفينة تحتاج للنجدة أو في انقاذ شحنتها واذا نجحت تلك المساعدة نجح الانقاذ كليًا أو جزئيًا. ولا بد للجعل المذكور من أن يقوم على الآركان الآتية: وقوع الخطر البحري والتطوع للمساعدة (واذا لم تكن واجبة على السفينة المغيثة بحكم عقد أو اتفاق أو غير ذلك)، ونجاح تلك المساعدة كليًا أو جزئيًا ومساهمتها فعلاً في عملية الإنقاذ.
