I have a document issued by a small company xxx, that certifies that Fulan Al-Fulani is employed at xxx.
I have a feeling that the word "shahada" is just TOO much for this.
Any suggestions ?

شهادة

Explanation:
An insturment is called "certification" (from the verb "to certify") if it helps bring a measure of certitude to a claim by having a responsible body testify to the same assertion in writing.

An instrument is called شهادة if a responsible party testifies in it the the truth of a claim, thus lending it a measure of certitude.

As you can see, although the two terms come from two different directions, they both converge on the same thing. Their difference, although clear, has not stopped their interchangeability in common usage.

In fact, the use of the term شهادة is so common for this kind of instrument that the holder of the certification, if Arabic-speaking, may find other terms, though not incorrect, less comfortable.
