people's exhibit مستند الإدعاء العام Explanation: I've searched for this in dictionaries and it is not there as a legal term. I think (people) here is used in the sense of being one party to the suit, like when a certain suit is referred to as: (People Vs. [name of defendant]). In this sense, I think the Arabic equivalent is الإدعاء العام. Personally, Noha, I prefer الإدعاء العام to indicate the representation of people. I don't think there will be confusion as usually we translate Public Prosecutor as النيابة العامة or ممثل النيابة العامة. although I agree with you that we might be talking about different names for the same entity. |
