English term or phrase: People's exhibit
Exhibit is a document or other item introduced as evidence during a trial or hearing. How would you translate it and what would "People" be?

مستند الإدعاء العام
Explanation:
I've searched for this in dictionaries and it is not there as a legal term. I think (people) here is used in the sense of being one party to the suit, like when a certain suit is referred to as: (People Vs. [name of defendant]). In this sense, I think the Arabic equivalent is الإدعاء العام. I hope this will help.

I don't think الشعب is acceptable. Personally, Noha, I prefer الإدعاء العام to indicate the representation of people. I don't think there will be confusion as usually we translate Public Prosecutor as النيابة العامة or ممثل النيابة العامة. although I agree with you that we might be talking about different names for the same entity.

Notes to answerer
Asker: Thank you, Abdulrahman. You are absolutely right. This is the meaning. But I could not make up my mind whether I should say الإدعاء العام أو المدعي العام or literally الشعب since I did not want to confuse ¨People¨¨ with ¨Public Prosecutor¨¨. What do you think?

Asker: You'r right الشعب sounds awkward and flimsy. I guess I'll stick to your الإدعاء العام. Thanks a ton.
