Explanation: cadillac is a slang adjective which means "the best"...a lawyer who is devilish in law and legal procedures, by any means fair or foul....
Kindly check the dictionary provided
I hope it is helpful
Hello Vanilla..
Having read your, Shazly's, and Nesrin's notes combined with my answer and the nature of context, I think the translation of the word "Cadillac" here has to cover three different senses
1- Cadillac as a place name
2- Cadillac as a name of company whose products are just for the elite either they are honest rich people or even devilish lawyers who struck it rich by deception
3- Cadillac which also means the "best" (slang)
if you translate it as just كاديلاك, it will sound strange and hardly understandable.
so a translation that can cover all the above-mentioned senses would be welcome,,
I think this translation can be
I am quite certain that the author does not mean "Cadillac" to be just a capitalized place name...and take care sometimes capitalization is used for stress and/or drawing attention to a specific implied sense..
so now it is up to you now.
I think the text became clearer especially you have already stopped crying...
Hi Vanilla
I think you have to check, if the text at hand has a relation to "Cadillac" as a city, so Nesrin's answer is the most helpful....But I am afraid.may be "cadillac" refers to both "city" and "best'.. just you can tell..Regards
I'm not so sure about your context, but all the internet sites I've found which refer to Cadillac lawyers, such as this one http://findlawyer.web.aplus.net/Workers-Comp-Lawyer/Michigan...
talk about lawyers in the city of Cadillac, Michigan. I guess it's as simple as that!

On the same website you've mentioned, you'll find this (on a different page though):
"To find an attorney in Cadillac, simply click on an area of law from the list below"

Sorry, that should be

I withdraw my answer - as you can see from Shazly's answer (who provided a fuller context, which you haven't unfortunately), it does refer to Cadillac cars, and I think it's also used in the sense of "the best"

Explanation: A story about lawyers will perhaps illustrate the point. At a meeting of lawyers at which problems of admission were being discussed, a colleague of mine, arguing against restrictive admission standards, used an analogy from the automobile industry. Would it not, he said, be absurd if the automobile industry were to argue that no one should drive a low quality car and therefore that no automobile manufacturer should be permitted to produce a car that did not come up to the Cadillac standard. One member of the audience rose and approved the analogy, saying that, of course, the country cannot afford any thing but Cadillac lawyers!

Asker: this story is what my context is about Shazly . thank you . but still i don't get how does the country can not afford any thing but Cadillac lawyers ? are they the cheapest ones ? if Cadillac is meant to be " the best " or "عباقرة " like Ali and Nesrin suggested ........and by the way , i stopped crying :) as things are getting to be clearer
