English term or phrase: my parents is it: والداي or والديّ
as in "my parents told me that i had the measles when I was young"

I'm checking a translation at the moment and the translator used: والديّّ
I feel it should be: والداي

which is the correct one?

neutral  Nesrin: That's because الوالدين here is مجرور - otherwise it would have been الوالدان, and "my parents" would be والداي (or والديّ if مجرور or منصوب)// (I haven't suggested an answer to that question by the way, so it's not "all mine") :-(
