منهج التواصل الشفهي/ الكلامي
Explanation:
This is how we called it when I first had my TEFL course. It's rather an approach ... They believe that languages are learnt and being taught for the purpose of communication in the first place. Thus, the way it's taught, the activities, and all teaching methods should support that goal. The teacher's role in this case is limited in the class; he/she is acting as a supervisor for communications going around to correct and guide. Teaching aids used are all realistic, discussing matters related to everyday's life.

another translation is الطريقة الاتصالية which I found in the link below. But I wouldn't really go for طريقة in translating neither method nor approach in this case; منهج should be the one.

Due to both ocean2gulf and fareedeh comments, I may also suggest منهاج if you're looking for an exact term for method in this case. This way it's still implying both meanings of theory and practice, but getting closer to practice side :)

Thanks a lot to everybody. I am selecting Dina's version. It sounds for me more academic. At the same time I don't reject Waleed's and Egylingua's proposals.

agree  ocean2gulf: sometimes it is also called التعليم التفاعلي and the word منهج you used is definitely better than طريقة
1 hr
  -> Thanks ocean2gulf :)

agree  fareedeh ghassemi: May be there are differences between communicative method of teaching language and communicative method of teaching as a whole.
1 hr
  -> Actually Fareedeh an approach is the theory and a method is the practice. منهج in this case covers boths meanings as it implies the meaning of the approach within the meaning of the method on translation. Thank you :)

agree  Iman Khaireddine: منهج التواصل الشفهي في التعليم is just perfect. Look at this definition: Communicative Method = Focuses on language as a medium of communication. Recognises that all communication has a social purpose - learner has something to say or find out

  -> Thanks Imane :)

agree  Bright Bridge: As my research paper was on "Communicative method in teachning English language" I agree with you except for شفهي/كلامي as there are many activities in this method which are almost speachless. Besides it takes into consideration writing skills.

  -> I agree Mona, but the word التفاعلي may apply to some other methods and approaches, I really think that التواصل makes a better specific meaning here :) Thank you :)

agree  roseta: in the C.Ap a teacher has many roles,such as monitor of all the activities,feedback provider,prompter,he certainly play all the roles but he just don't show them clairly.i think that a teacher should bear in mind the primary goal of learning a lge.
