Explanation:
I followed your link and read the whole text. It seems they are talking about MT and how to make the computer analyze morpheme-inflected words back to their original form. I think what they are trying to do is teach the computer how to do backward analysis. For example, breaking down a word such "houses" back to its original form by recognizing the inflectional morpheme "s" as an addition to the independent morpheme "house" rather than trying to teach the computer forward analysis by recognizing "s" as an inflectional morpheme that can be added to any independent morpheme to denote plural. They referred to the inflectional morpheme and the independent morpheme combination as "factored in" translation.
This is a very interesting subject and I hope that I have helped you.
