"He worked as an orderly at the hospital, where...he acquired his aptitude for boosting wheelchairs." US slang for "steal". سرق and other MSA words won't do; I need something from the colloquial. (Please note which dialect for any suggestions.) Thanks.

I heard these from different friends from different regions, it sounds funny cause the same phrases are used in other situations as well and it depends upon the context, there is nothing to compare here between the real meaning and the phrase usage in these cases.
