English to Arabic translations [PRO] Medical - Medical: Instruments / Ventillation
English term or phrase:back-up
"The [device name] operates without Back-Up rate, whereas the other one can operate with or without Back-Up rate."
Elsewhere in the file, Back-up rate is defined as:
The rate corresponding to the respiratory cycle which will be provided when the device does not detect the patient respiratory cycle or when the patient spontaneous breathing is lower than the prescribed Back-Up rate.
It's back-up breath rate as other refs. say, yet I didn't want to discourage answerers with "three" words and move to the violation zone, as others seem to disapprove too many terms given in one question! Rate is possibly easier to find out, I believe. Eng. answerers got that point and didn't object!
Reference information: This is from the pdf your provided:
A Bi-Level Positive Airway Pressure Device with a back-up rate (HCPCS K05333) also delivers adjustable, variable levels of positive air pressure to assist spontaneous respiratory efforts and supplement the volume of air a patient inspires. In addition to the automated delivery of bi-level air pressure, this device also has a time back-up feature to detect when a patient has stopped or delayed breathing. Whenever “sufficient spontaneous inspiratory efforts fail to occur” the back-up feature ensures that the appropriate amount of air is provided.

Asker: Yes, and I found another resource speaking about the time factor as well, which might be inferred from the way the Spanish translator understood and translated the term "frequencia". I thought that the ordinary back-up wouldn't do the trick here!
