A suggestion: since there does not seem to be an Arabic word for this system, you may want to add a transcription in Arabic - الإيبيكيراتوم - to precede any definition you will ultimately select.

Asker: Thank you Mr. Ibrahim. And this is what I found in Bishay Medical Dictionary on "Keratome" - مقطع القرنية and keratomy as شق القرنية

Asker: Yes Mr. Ibrahim, my intuition is that it has to be transliterated. I'm not inclined to use long explanations and like one-expression rendering as possible as I can.

Asker: Hi Lina. It seems that the second half is valid since I also have (microkeratome) which is (مبضع القرنية المجهري). however, the syllable (Epi) is relevant to (Epithelial that is relevant to الخلايا الظهارية). I'm not sure if it works on the corneal surface. So, I'll have either to choose this answer or Mr. Ibrahim's transliteration alternative.
