Medical - Medical (general)
English term or phrase: clinician
A clinican by definition is "a trained health professional who provides some kind of clinical service, e.g. doctor, nurse, physiotherapist, psychologist, chiropodist, dentist etc"
Is there one word which can describe this?
Examples of context:
Come prepared to ask questions of your clinician or physician.
A colposcope is an instrument that magnifies the view of the cervix about 15 times, allowing the clinician to check carefully for abnormalities.
Your clinician or physician will then enter the examination room.

الممارس الصحي
Explanation:
another definition I found was "a practitioner (of medicine or psychology) who does clinical work instead of laboratory experiments", so I think the word ممارس is appropriate here. The term الممارس الصحي is used here

Thanks to all who tried to offer their help. Special thanks goes to Nesrin and Tamara, both answers are appropriate for the context, particularly when addressing people of little knowledge of the medical field. Wish I could split the points.

الطبيب السريري

Explanation:
الطبيب الذي يعالج مرضاه سريريا. لااعتقد بكون كلمة واحدة مثل "السريري" تفي بالغرض خشيةمن عدم فهمها من قبل العامة

neutral  Nesrin: note that nurses are also included in the definition, so الطبيب may not be very accurate

-> thanks. In my comment to your answer I was referring to the definition provided by the asker, which states that the word "clinician" includes doctors as well as nurses.

agree  MElHelw: Have to agree with Nesrin Dr. Jabouri. If the definer wanted to say doctor or treating physician he would say so. Not only nurses have to be taken into account but also the physiotherapist and those covered by etc. who may or may not be doctors

agree  NancyEweiss: ممارس (عام) صحي أو طبي أو معالج فقط as clinician is used in a very broad sense anyway, no need I believe to specify too much unless the asker needs to
