CMT: That text line is is absurd and grossly unrealistic. [One wonders what controlled substance the original writer -- who apparently had not done even basic research into field operations before starting to compose this drivel -- was indulging when writing such turgid and unrealistic trash.]
In the real world of field operations - military and also intelligence -- the usual procedure would be CALL SIGN [Code name of the distant station being addressed or contacted], followed by the code identifier = "THIS IS Alpha-Five-Zero-Niner-Charlie." After that the text of the message is passed, then the connection is closed. Even the writers of some of the comical "spy flicks" know better.
