English to Arabic translations [PRO]
Other / perfumery
English term or phrase: base/heart/top notes
In the fragrance industry, scents are usually broken down into these 3 notes.. The top note is the first one you smell in a perfume, then comes the heart notes and the base notes... What would be the most accurate Arabic translation?

Explanation:

so you may say also:

smelling a perfume usually gets affected with the Alcohol components when first smelled, once alcohol is gone, it\'s the original smell we sense. Finally and after a while, the body\'s smell mixes with the perfume which makes it change a bit, and so it smells different. Excellent types of perfumes however should never get to the third stage, and some types of skin never sweat and so never get to the third stage.

You may also say:

base however stands for قاعدة/ أساس
and top قمة

maybe you can also say

It depends mostly on the way you\'re expressing the rest of the text I guess. Wait for more answers, I\'m sure you may get better ones :)

neutral  Hassan Al-Haifi (wordforword): base also can be defined as هدف as shown by the following definitions for base from ectaco: ساس, القاعدة اّساسية, قاعدة كيمياء, نقطة مركز, الهدف, قاعدة بحرية, قاعدة جوية, أساسي. Please see my notes on my definition.

Middle Note (heart note)
Forms the body of an aroma in a blend. Does not last as long as a base note but does not evaporate as quickly as a top note.

Many thanks for your informative feedback. To the best of my knowledge there is no established equivalents for \'notes\" in Arabic but just general description therefore I adopted the \"short\" English terms taking into consideration that if it used in Arabic to describe the type, the smell of the blend is also included.

neutral  Dina Abdo: I think you're right Mr. Shazly, but those expressions in Arabic are usually used to describe the type of perfume as a whole not the their notes. That's why I thought I should avoid them when I answered :)

Explanation:

Explanation:
Sakhr also defines base as هدف, which in this case would mean the scent that will allow you to reach a decision on the fragrance.
