For your information, a convenience store is a relatively small store, often combined with a gasoline station that sells drinks (water, juice, carobnated drinks, coffee, small containers of milk, and, depending on the local laws, beer and/or wine coolers), ice, cigarettes and other tobacco products, candy (including chewing gum), cookies and other quick snacks such as jerky, in addition to batteries, lottery tickets, and items for motorists (e.g. engine oil). It does not typically have a produce section or fresh meats as you would have in a supermarket, and the prices are higher, but, as the name implies, it is more convenient because there are no long lines. Such stores are not for family shopping. They are usually open 24 hours a day. |
