وهى معدة خاصة تعمل بميكانية معينة تستخدم لقفل بئر الحفر سواء كان غاز أو بترول والغرض منها توفير الأمان للبئر لعدم انبعاث الغاز أو الزيت بشكل مفاجئ على جهاز الحفر. وهى أنواع منها الدائمة ومنها ما يمكن استخراجه مرة أخرى سواء لتكملة عملية الحفر أو وضع البئر على خط الإنتاج
