Contemporary physics posit all sorts of realities to which the scientist has no direct access: strings, higher dimensional membranes, even parallel universes
which are causally disconnected from ours.
Please help me find the meaning of "strings" in the previous context.

Explanation:
نظرية "الأوتار الفائقة
وتفترض هذه النظرية أن عالمنا يتألف من عشرة أبعاد على الأقل: الأبعاد الثلاثة المكانية والبُعد الزمني، إضافة إلى ستة أبعاد جديدة لا نراها لأنها "منطوية على ذاتها" (أي أنها صغيرة جدًّا، لا تشعر بها سوى القُسَيمات، مما يسمح بتوحيد هويتها). أما لبنة الكون الوحيدة فهي "الوتر" String الذي يمكن أن نقول، في تبسيط مفرط، بأن القُسيمات المختلفة تشكِّل "اهتزازات" متباينة له.
