English to Arabic translations [PRO]
Art/Literary - Poetry & Literature / The fuse went out
English term or phrase: "The fuse went out"
Also "the fuse went out" (i.e. to someone's brain) =someone with short circuited brain.
This is an insult meaning someone who is intelligent but fails to understand something obvious or someone who is ordinarily with low IQ.
I can't find a satisfying expression. I am looking for the literal expression that would carry the gist of the source, not just the verbatim translation.

This is an idiom and cannot be split into separate words.
Thanks for your help
