I wish to know how to translate "artificial">> in

"Any athlete knows that practice is drudgery. And he knows also that practice is often artificial.... And analysis is bound to be artificial."

Writers, as you might well know, aren't always plain(direct and clear) in saying what they mean, especially when it comes to literary prose(writing).

Anyway, if I find a better translation, I'll simply be more than happy. But I'm afraid I won't go with "غير واقعي" because it just doesn't sound right here (in this context); moreover, do the two occurrences of the word "artificial" carry the same meaning (غير واقعي)?

Asker: Maybe you are right , Amayreh. But why does not the author say "human activity"? And i guess that everything we do goes under human activities,so, why does he describe things using this term? Thanks so much for your co-operation *(*
