al mouaddala jinyyan or al mouaddala wirathyan Explanation: we're using the first answer as the word "jinyyan" is started to be used more and more frequently. you may take the other option as a conservative classical answer. i don't approve with the former formula of "mouhandasa wirathian" because the real meaning is that there was a modification in the genetic structure (handasa) and every gene is structured anyway |

Nabataat mu-'addalah wiraathiyyan Explanation: Dear Mona, I personally RESIST the easy way out of Arabicizing --I first try my darnest to find a PROPER Arabic translation (if it looks or sounds 'odd,' I put the 'foreign' word after it in parenthesis). Thus, I'd use wirathiyya --even taTawworiyya or khilqiyya--before resorting to jiniyya. Best regards. Ghassan |
