Most of Arab readers do not follow leagues other than their national ones .. so I prefer to write the name of the club or the team .. and we can add the region name as well .. but it would be too much ..

You are probably right Nesrin, unless they are big followers of UK football, which a lot of Arab readers will be though far more won't. At least using the club name gives them a chance

My personal opinion is that the name "Teesside" won't really mean anything to the Arab reader (and may indeed be confusing, as we got confused), so Heba's suggestion of mentioning the name of the club, Middlesbrough, would make more sense.

It's not Teeside football club The football club is Middlesbrough the area is known as teeside as it is on the River Tee

I understand your problem now, Mai - and Heba just solved it! Indeed, Yakubu moved from the REGION of Teesside, but the club he moved from was actually Middlesbrough. It's up to you now if you'll translate it literally or go with Heba's added information.
