How would this (Bears like honey / Bees make honey) be said in Armenian? Please give a transcription in Roman letters too.

Արջը մեղր է սիրում / մեղուն մեղր է սարքում

Explanation:
Archy meghr e sirum / meghun meghr e sarqum.

Translation is given in singular forms as generalized notions of "bear" and "bee". In plural: Archery meghr en sirum / meghunery meghr en sarqum. (Արջերը մեղր են սիրում / մեղուները մեղր են սարքում)

With respect to making honey, the verbs sarqel and patrastel may apply. I chose "sarqel" for consonance (in terms of similarity of words sirum/sarqum and the number of syllables in each) like in a verse. So, I considered the two parts of the phrase interconnected. Otherwise, you may also use "patrastel".

I think "to make honey" should be translated "meghr patrastel"

There is an old armenian proverb: "Bee makes honey and snake makes venom from the same flower" which sounds in Armenian:
"նույն ծաղկից մեղուն մեղր է պատրաստում, օձը` թույն";

Asker: I didn't want to vote on this question immediately. The problem is according to Wikipedia's Wiktionary, verbs like anel, shinel, sarqel (sark'el) and patrastel are synonyms or nearly so. They all mean pretty much the same thing "to make" although some other sources I looked at translate patrastel as meaning "to cook." Can anyone, Anna, Karen or anyone else explain first why one of these words for "make" would be better than another? Thank you, Brian Costello
