Explanation: Ad. P. => here refers to a Postal Address, the address of a person which can be reached by post/mail. (It may or may not necessarily be a permanent address, and often a postal address is a temporary one)
Dist. => District, an administrative unit whereas the country is divided into several such units.
I hope this solves your question.
Thanks ! Best of luck !
I think that such a confusion can be sorted out by having a look at any other legal bangladeshi or indian bengali marriage certificate. Translators can reach to a conclusion through it's help, I hope so.
'P' can be province also I feel. However, AD P, itself is confusing, where AD can be abbreviated not only for address, but also for 'advertisment', 'addition' etc. May be P is left incomplete by mistake while typing as when we exceed maximum no. of words limit in some places it deletes the extra characters!
Rest, the Bengali translators discussing here, are better people to reach a decision.
Is there any chance that it is simply a typo or 'slip of keyboard'? Anyway, without guessing too much, the only viable option now is to seek the original Bengali document from where the certificate was translated into English.
Now, I am certain that 'p' dose not stand for post office because P.O. stands for Post Office and it has already been mentioned. Asker: would mind sharing us the XXX after Ad.P.? That may give us a clue.
It's a marriage certificate, certifies that XXX son of XXX of Vill.XXX P.O.XXX P.S.XXX, Distr.XXX Ad.P.XXXXX, Date of birth XXXX

dist, ad p
Dist= District
Explanation: Dist= District
AD is most probably the abbreviation of Anno Domini, ie, after the birth of Christ. This abbreviation is often used in marriage certificate to denote Gregorian or English calendar.
I need more context to answer ad p.

Asker: Tks, Lubain. No, I don't think "Ad" stands for Anno Domini.
Explanation: dist is the abbreviation of district.
There is a missing word "n" in between "ad".
P stands for Post office.
It may be police station also but generally we write post office with district.

Asker: Tks for your help. No there isn't a missing word in between, it is "Ad. P."
Dist= District, an administrative land unit of Bangladesh
Explanation: The term district is used to indicate the land units that make a division, it's not used to indicate different areas of a city.

The country is divided in to six divisions and each of the division consists of a few districts. Further a district is divided in to a few upazillas (sub-district).

However, the term sub-district isn't used.

Explanation: Dist = district that's okey and common. But what about 'ad p'? 'ad' and 'p' jointly form this term as per the question. No clear answer received for the term yet. Most likely a clearer context will be helpful to understand it.

Asker: Yes, I know it is quite confussing. But it says "Ad. P."
Explanation: Everyone correctly mentioned "District" for "dist".
For "Ad. P.", I guess it could be "Permanent address".
In Bangladesh only country name comes after District name. So, if the current address is given before then the permanent address can come after it and "Ad." may indicate "address" and "P" may indicate "permanent".

Asker: I have thought that, but why it is written the other way around.
