Saleh bhai, I have already mentioned in my previous note that "all of us may not agree on a translation", and you have all the right to disagree. However, unlike the word probeshito প্রবেশিত proposed by Hira that is "very unfamiliar word and therefore may create confusion", mine is a bit different. You see probesh প্রবেশ is a familiar word when people talk about sex formally. Mulok মূলক as a suffix is also a common word, such as shashtimulok শাস্তিমূলক , uddeshshamulok উদ্দেশ্যমূলক. Bohirvuto বহির্ভূত as a suffix and as translation of 'non' or 'un' is another common word, such as bichar-bohirvuto hottakando বিচার-বহির্ভূত হত্যাকাণ্ড for non-judicial killing, and beaini o ainbohirvuto বেআইনি ও আইন-বহির্ভূত when we translate 'illegal and unlawful' together. So my point is that although combination of probeshmulok প্রবেশমূলক, probeshbohirbhuto প্রবেশবহির্ভূত, and grohonmulok গ্রহণমূলক might sound unfamiliar or innovative, each word in the combination is common and can easily be understood by the concerned people. And this kind of 'creation' of words is not new in Bengali language and some of them have been well-accepted by the general people as well as the scholastic society. I am aware that time will determine whether people will accept this innovation or not. |
