Чартърно училище? Звучи като смешна транслитерация, тъй като тези училища разполагат с отделен "устав, харта". И все пак може ли да се приеме този термин, като при първата употреба явно ще се наложи да го обясня по-дълго с бележка на преводача? Или имате други предложения?

Charter Schools /чартърни училища/ в САЩ са безплатни държавни училища, в които се получават дотации за учещите се, еквивалентни с тези в държавните учебни заведения. В тях няма административно подчинение. Всяко чартърно училище определя своите програми, педагогически методи, хорариуми, годишен календар. Някои чартърни училища съкращават учебната година с 20 дни и удължават учебния ден с 2 часа. Те получават помощ от родителите на децата, като се стремят да ги превърнат в „силни училища ".

Предлагам една идея, а иначе charter school = alternative type of American public school that, while paid for by taxes, is independent of the public-school system and relatively free from state and local regulations. A charter school has a greater degree of freedom and autonomy than the traditional public school, and students attend it by choice. Each school is granted a renewable charter, usually by a state or local board for three to five years.

мисля, че щом чартърните полети са полети, които са помощни на редовните полети, и този вид училище е нещо като помощно училище, в добавка към редовната и задължителна форма на обучение
