General / Conversation / Greetings / Letters | | English term or phrase: Keep the door locked at all times. | | That's it. It's a sign that's going to be stuck up on a door, and I need to know how it goes in Bulgarian. Since it's a basic phrase I have classed it as non-pro. Variations (or improvements) are also acceptable, as long as it captures the essence of the command. TIA. |

The second one means: "The door to be kept locked at all times". The difference is in the construction of the phrases: active voice with the first one, passive voice with the second. Both of them go equally well in Bulgarian. |

Since it is to be stuck up on a door, it acquires the meaning to lock the door every time you use it. BTW, this is exactly the note on the door in my block of flats.
