This is obviously a special transaction between Virgin Atlantic and Airbus. The latter offered Virgin a firm contract and Virgin committed to the contract to buy six A380s with options of Airbus, so that Virgin could become one of the shareholders of Airbus to be a 21st century jetliner.
That's what I understand from the text, which might well be a press release.
